This September at London Fashion Week Christopher Bailey showcased his first fully fledged runway-to-retail collection. Editors were given a sneak peak of this collection in the summer, but at LFW not only did press get to see the collection styled on the runway, us at home could watch the live stream and buy immediately. That’s right, over 100 countries benefited from this new way of shopping, along with Londoners at the Regent Street store.
That wasn’t the only treat Burberry had in store for us this season, opening a week long exhibition in London. Having the chance to meet artists, designers and creators, visit the studio, have tea/coffee at the cafe and view the collection up close, was all made possible at Makers House this season.
Walking up the huge staircase you were met with a screening of the LFW catwalk and surrounded by mannequins dressed in the AW16 collection. Pyjama inspired matching sets, gold fringe drummer-boy jackets and oversized sweaters were all featured, and I can’t lie it was more than tempting to whip off one or two pieces (the cut out boots included) and wear them there and then. If you missed out on this exclusive exhibition, don’t worry I took pictures of pretty much everything to share with you.
